Clients, Not Cases.
Our team of attorneys truly care about you and your family, not just the outcome of your case.
Many people who are entering into a divorce are not looking for painful litigation; however, unfortunately for many, this is exactly what they find themselves facing. If you are entering into a divorce but are looking for a gentler approach, there are options and alternatives that are available to you. At Crary Buchanan, we recognize what is on the line with divorce and we are prepared to help you by exploring all possible options. One such option is that of mediation and at our firm, we are here to help you pursue it.
The divorce mediation process is much simpler, and can save time and money for the divorcing parties. By meeting with a mediator, parties can address any issues that they are not in agreement on – such as child custody or alimony. It is important to remember that you do not need to be filing a no-fault divorce to be eligible for this form of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) , you only need to be willing to partake in the process and agreeable to working out your issues reasonably.
The mediation process is considered to be a much more amicable way of dissolving a marriage than the contested divorce process. This does not mean, however, that it will be free from issues, concerns, and general disagreements. Therefore, spouses who opt to end their marriage through the process of mediation should only do so when a divorce attorney has been consulted with about the process.
Professional mediators are trained to act as methodical third-party correspondents during the process of mediation. While this is effective in preventing against unfair biases and enhancing the terms of negotiation, it does not provide you with a legal advocate whose sole purpose will be invested in preserving all of your rights. Consulting with an experienced divorce lawyer throughout the mediation process can allow you to feel more confident in the efforts being made to negotiate the terms of your divorce in Port St. Lucie.
At Crary Buchanan, we are well-versed in mediation. Attorney William F. Crary II is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator, as well as a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Mediator. Having this level of experience on your side can be invaluable and can be the difference between reaching an agreeable outcome and being unable to reach a resolution. If you would like to learn more, please do not hesitate to pick up the phone and contact a Port St. Lucie attorney from our AV® rated firm.
